In superhero/superhero ships, do the characters feel daunted by their partners’ powers? I have a soft spot for super-strong characters feeling super weak.

2012!Steve Rogers/2023!Steve Rogers/2023!Tony Stark: I was crossing my fingers for selfcest opportunities when I first heard rumors of time travel in Endgame and damn, did that movie deliver. I’d love to see Steve and Steve bonding over anything, including over their mutual love of Tony, but it would also be hilarious for both of the Steves to individually set their sights on Tony and butt heads over him. Maybe Tony has to break up a fight between 2023 Steve and 2012 Steve about that or something else, and he acts as the mediator between two equally bullheaded, earnest super soldiers. In terms of porn, I’d be equally delighted to see Tony either getting double-teamed by two Steves or bossing them both around in bed. And I’m happy with one Steve and Tony in an established relationship, or a total get-together fic. Two Steves, one Tony! Go wild!

2012!Tony Stark/2023!Tony Stark: The inherent crackiness of fucking your past self is balanced here by the tremendous difference between 2012 Tony and 2023 Tony. (I’m equally happy with 2012 Tony pre- or post-Chitauri invasion.) I’d love to see battered 2023 Tony having to face his more flip, less traumatized past incarnation. I’d be fascinated to see a hurt/comfort angle on this: maybe 2012 Tony asks his future self if they defeat Thanos, and 2023 has to figure out how to answer him, or 2012 Tony reminds despondent 2023 Tony what he really values in life. Time travel fuckery is also more than welcome— does 2023 Tony say anything to 2012 Tony that creates a causality loop? I’m also very happy with a porn take on this, because, well, Tony Stark would totally fuck his alternate universe self. (And I’m always happy with background Steve/Tony if that’s your jam, but that is obviously optional!)

The Umbrella Academy (comics)

Fandom-specific likes:

• Diego and Vanya’s punk band from their youth

• Hurt/comfort, especially if the grudges are still simmering

• The wackiness of the comics. Aliens? Robots? Alien robots?

• Diego’s hardboiled detective aesthetic. If you want to turn him into a stoic woobie, be my guest.

• Exploring the moral messiness of the characters. Vanya went feral and caused the apocalypse on purpose in this canon, and Diego has the capacity to be pretty ruthless too (although happy endings please!)

• Nostalgia for the bonds the siblings had when they were kids.

Diego Hargreeves/Vanya Hargreeves: Literally every interaction Diego and Vanya have in the comics is brimming with sexual tension. I’m not even lying. From the punk band they formed in their youth to their mutual hatred as adults, Diego and Vanya are important to each other, and always have been. I’d love to see enemies-to-lovers for these two, especially if it draws on the lingering sadness over their past closeness and it ends well. Hatesex in a seedy motel! Mutual pining! Brooding! There’s so much to love with this estranged brother-sister pair.

The Umbrella Academy (TV)

Fandom-specific likes:

• Fics set in any period— when they’re all teenagers at the Academy, when they’re all scattered, when they all come together for the apocalypse, and beyond.

• Canon-divergence AUs where the apocalypse gets totally fixed.

• Diego’s stutter and any insecurities surrounding that.

• References to missions the siblings went on when they were in the Academy.

• If you’re familiar with Diego’s breath-holding power from the comics, feel free to bring that in!

• Klaus as more of a contrary, flawed asshole than a breathless, teary woobie. Everyone as flawed assholes trying to do their best. Repairing the family after years of fucked-up trauma and infighting.

Allison Hargreeves/Diego Hargreeves: Allison and Diego kick ass. I loved seeing Allison’s combat skills, and I’d imagine that that’s the kind of thing that would earn Diego’s respect/admiration. The competence kink is strong with these two. I love any configuration of dom/sub with them— I equally love Allison turning tough Diego into a stuttering mess, and Diego letting Allison surrender control for once in her life, and they both wear so much leather! I’m also interested in the idea of Diego having a childhood crush on Allison, just like Luther did.

Allison Hargreeves/Diego Hargreeves/Luther Hargreeves: The way these three work as a unit is golden— Allison tames and focuses the combustion engine of Diego and Luther, but she’s equally badass and can go toe-to-toe with them. I love how competitive they all are, and I’d love to see Diego and Luther fighting over Allison… or Allison and Diego fighting over Luther, or Allison and Luther fighting over Diego… but I also cherish the three of them on equal footing as a super competent team! I’d be super interested to see fic set when they’re all kids/teenagers living at the Academy, or as adults.

Allison Hargreeves/Vanya Hargreeves: Two words: yay sisters. Allison and Vanya have a tense and complex relationship in the show, and that translates beautifully to their romantic/sexual chemistry. I’m especially drawn to the ways that Allison gets whatever she wants all the time, and Vanya is always denied. How does Allison try to be a “good sister” to Vanya? How does she fail? Does she even need to be? I love mutual pining for these two, whether it starts when they’re children or when they’re adults. Other things I’m into: the contrast between unassuming Vanya and flashy Allison, internalized homophobia, sexual fantasies… honestly, I am down for pretty much anything with these two.

Diego Hargreeves/Klaus Hargreeves: Diego and Klaus are such a bulletproof pair of strong personalities who clash even as they care deeply for each other. I’m really interested in the dynamic of them both being so emotionally sensitive, but Diego pushes his feelings down while Klaus over-exaggerates them. I’d love to see Diego and Klaus struggling with these roles they put themselves in— maybe Diego refuses to ever admit weakness in front of Klaus, or Klaus assumes he’s not worth anything because he’s the teary family disappointment, and they both end up realizing that there’s more to themselves than their overblown personas. Hurt/comfort is always welcome. In terms of porn, I have no top/bottom preferences, and I love stuttering teary Diego and swaggering leather daddy Diego in equal measure.

Diego Hargreeves/Luther Hargreeves: On the surface, the outright animosity between Diego and Luther creates irresistible chemistry for an enemies-to-lovers ship, but I’m also incredibly drawn to the deep, underlying trust between them. Number One and Number Two need each other in equal measure, but it’s hard for them to admit it. I’d love mutual pining or slow burn with these two, especially if they’re in deep denial about their feelings for whatever reason. Maybe Luther feels guilty about tarnishing his Number One reputation by falling for his brother, or Diego won’t let himself acquiesce to his brother and feels like he needs to prove how macho he is at all times, or there’s some internalized homophobia in the air, or anything else. I love them struggling to be vulnerable around each other— maybe Diego stutters— and eventually learning to trust each other and give into their mutual attraction.

Allison/Diego: Remember the “get her” scene from the fight at the mansion with Hazel and Cha Cha in episode 3? So do I. Allison and Diego kick ass. I loved seeing Allison’s combat skills, and I’d imagine that that’s the kind of thing that would earn Diego’s respect/admiration. They’re two deeply caring people with a strong sense of loyalty, they both have complex relationships with Luther, and uh, they’re both really hot. Things I’d like to see with them:

Prompts:

• Competence kink. I’d love to see them working and fighting together, maybe doing detective work like they were in the later episodes of the season.

• Both of them being desperately horny for each other, and thinking it’s a lost cause. Think mutual pining, but especially focused on sex. I want lots of shameful masturbating in bed and being a mess around each other, and both of them trying to put on a show of toughness. Bonus points for letting Allison act like a stereotypical horny teenage boy— watching porn, objectifying Diego endlessly in her mind, trying to show off for him, etc.

• Dom/sub in either direction, or even switching. I equally love Allison turning tough Diego into a stuttering mess, and Diego letting Allison surrender control for once in her life.

Allison/Diego/Luther: A little bit of everything! The way they work as a unit is golden— Allison tames and focuses the combustion engine of Diego and Luther, but she’s equally badass and can go toe-to-toe with them. I’d love to see them egging each other on in a fight or, uh, other activities.

Prompts:

• Diego and Luther get competitive over Allison and she’s 100% aware and pulling their strings. You could take this in a bunch of directions— something darker, with a vain Allison purposefully enjoying the attention and manipulating them, or it could be fluffier.

• Allison and Luther are together like they are in canon and Diego is being an immense dick about it. Allison and Luther get together to punish him for his bratty behavior.

• After Diego finds out that Allison Rumored her own husband and daughter, he refuses to speak to her. He sees it as an ultimate betrayal. Allison doesn’t think much of Diego, either. Luther tries to talk sense into them, but eventually he realizes that it’s probably more effective to fuck sense into them.

Allison/Diego/Vanya: Every pair in this trio has a super interesting relationship, and all together, there’s really a wealth of ways to go. Check out the Allison/Diego and Allison/Vanya sections for my thoughts on them… and Diego and Vanya have the deep animosity between them, of course, because of Vanya’s book, Diego’s teenage cruelty, and the ways that they were both shafted by Reginald.

Prompts:

• Allison and Diego, decked out in leather, team up to introduce their innocent sister to the world of kink.

• Diego’s still mad at Vanya about her book, and Vanya isn’t too inclined to reconcile with him. Allison helps them kiss and make up.

• Vanya and Allison are in a relationship and Diego’s obsessed with them. He can’t stop thinking about how hot they are together, the times he’s caught them kissing or getting hot and heavy or even just when they’re together in public, loosely holding hands. He touches himself thinking about them, and he feels like an immense perv. Around them, he’s skittish and guilty and avoids them, until they finally track him down and make it clear that they’re extremely interested in having them join him.

• Pining. So much (eventually requited) pining, especially Vanya pining for her beautiful, powerful sister who has it all.

• Sugar mommy Allison flaunting her wealth and spoiling Vanya, especially if it’s Allison’s way of seducing her. I’m happy with Vanya being a little self-conscious and uncomfortable, or for her to secretly love it.

• Either Diego or Luther— whoever’s POV it is— feeling deeply conflicted about his attraction to his brother. I’m happy for either Diego to struggle with pressure to be macho and good enough, or for Luther to beat himself up for not being the perfect law-abiding Number One who’s perfectly content with Allison. Internalized homophobia is also a welcome angle!

• Angry sex that turns into tears. Diego and Luther try to do hate sex, but they can’t, the feelings are too complicated. If Diego’s the one who ends up in tears, I’d love for his stutter to come back out.

Diego/Grace: The highlight of this ship for me is the way Grace brings out Diego’s softer side. The contrast between swaggering, macho Diego and humble son Diego is perfection, especially paired with Grace’s unwavering cheerful calm. I’m a sucker for the Oedipal complex here, as well as exploring the weirdness of having a robot mom.

• I want to see Grace absolutely bringing Diego to his knees— this could be when he’s still a teenager living at the Academy, or an adult coming back to visit. Or, best of both worlds, Diego comparing his feelings about Grace from the past to the present!

• I love angst on Diego’s part about how Grace is his mom and she’s a robot and he’s not supposed to feel this way about her.

• Diego desperate, but trying to keep his desire under control… until he cracks.

Fandom-specific likes:

Carol Danvers/Tony Stark: I think that Carol could bond a lot with Tony over having a cocky and charismatic persona and immense power, and I can imagine him being someone she could trust emotionally, if that makes sense. Also, I love characters who are powerful, and these two are at the top of their game! The alpha/alpha (not omegaverse, just in general) vibe is really cool.

Prompts:

• Figurative dick-measuring contests. Carol and Tony try to impress each other by how macho they are, how much of a big deal they are, etc., and get turned on partially by their own egos and partially by each other.

• Dom/sub play, with either Carol domming the hell out of Tony with those power fists or Tony letting Carol take a break from being the most powerful person ever.

• Hurt/comfort. Can be emotional or physical— e.g. Carol starts feeling guilty over not being with Maria and Monica, or something actually injures her; or Tony is extremely agitated about failing to prevent Thanos, or he’s having issues with his arc reactor. Anything with these two normally swaggering and confident heroes having to face their demons.

Carol Danvers/Steve Rogers/Tony Stark: I'm fascinated with the psychological toll of Carol being The Most Powerful and how that affects her and the people who care about her. Steve and Tony are excellent foils for her in that regard, because they've both faced the experience of being the "chosen one" in some capacity, and having to contend with vast battles in violence and in ethics. I also really like how they're all such aggressive competent alpha-individuals, and could play with vulnerability and power in the bedroom.

Prompts:

• Steve and Tony are in an established relationship and they invite Carol into their bedroom. Carol starts out as a super dominant type and eventually learning to trust Steve and Tony enough to let them see her in a more vulnerable role.

• A scenario in which Carol acts as a bridge between Tony and Steve as they navigate their relationship post-CW and IW.

• All three of them staggering home after a mission and having exhausted, thank-God-we're-alive sex.

Fandom-specific likes:

Tony Stark/Janet Van Dyne: Tony Stark and Janet Van Dyne are two founding Avengers who share a deep love and empathy for their friends and loved ones. They’ve both seen a lot, they both can kick ass, and they’ve got plenty of feelings between them. 616 is what’s nominated, but I’m also happy with Ults Tony and Jan if that’s what you’d rather write.

Prompts:

• Hurt/comfort— both Jan and Tony have seen some shit, and I’d love to see them trusting and relying on each other as longtime allies.

• Jan and Tony are both fancy people who like fancy things! I’d be very happy to see them living The Good Life together, going to parties and being glamorous.

• Costume kink, for either party. Maybe even roleplaying as each other!

Fandom-specific likes:

• I really like stories about Tony’s alcoholism, and the first and second drinking arcs in 616 are two of my all-time favorite comics.
